  • If pre-diabetes or pre-diabetes is known, the woman should seek pre-conception care as soon as she plans to conceive. At this time, the doctor will emphasize whether his blood sugar is under control or not. Many drugs for diabetes, high blood pressure or fat control are harmful to the fetus, so it is necessary to stop them beforehand and take safe insulin during pregnancy. A woman who wants to have a child should check her kidneys, urine, retina, etc. first.
  • Every childbearing woman without or known to have diabetes should be aware of the associated health risks before becoming pregnant. Blood pressure, sugar should be measured at the first check-up before having a child or after pregnancy is confirmed. Even if the blood sugar is normal at this time, there is nothing to worry about. This test should be done again in 24 to 28 weeks.
  • Pregnant women with diabetes should first be interested in healthy and nutritious food. Eating less caloric and fatty foods especially fast food, ghee, dalda etc., eating sugary foods like rice, flour/flour foods and sweet fruits in moderation, eating more fibrous foods, avoiding sugar/sweet foods.
  • Walk 30 minutes daily. If you can't walk for 30 minutes at a time, walking for 10 minutes three times will help control diabetes and maintain good health.
  • Regular follow-up with a gynecologist as well as a hormone and diabetes specialist.
