English name: Ficus, Fig tree

Scientific name: Sycamore Fig, Ficus sycamore

Introduction: Figs grow 30 to 40 feet tall. The bark is thick and smooth and prickly gray with a reddish tinge. The wood is gray in color and the tips of the leaves are narrow and three-veined. Figs of different countries vary from region to region.

Location: Figs are grown in different countries of the world including Bangladesh.

Colour: Figs are green when unripe and greenish or yellowish when ripe.

Taste: Figs are fleshy when raw and have a very sweet taste when ripe.

Flavour: Ripe fig aroma.

Dosage: 4 to 12 figs can be consumed.

Fruit: Figs are soft and sweet fruits. The covering portion of the fruit is very thin and contains many small seeds inside. Its fruits can be eaten dry and ripe. This species grows in warm climates. Sometimes it is used as jam. Also, figs are used in snacks.
