Look at the signs and understand how long a plastic container can be used
The use of plastic containers is increasing day by day. Underneath each plastic bottle or container you will see some numbers written in a triangular mold. This number indicates how many days or how many times the plastic container should be used. Then find out what a number means-
If ‘1’ is written in the triangle, it means that the pot is made of polyethylene terephthalate polythene. That is, these plastic containers can only be used once. Using them more than once is not healthy at all.
If ‘3’ is written in the triangle below the pot, it means that the pot is made of dense, opaque polythene or HDPE national polythene. Bottles of detergents, shampoos, toilet cleaners are made of this kind of polythene. It is not healthy to keep food or water in them.
If ‘3’ is written in the triangle, it means - this type of pot is made of polyvinyl chloride or PVC. Food wrappers or cooking oil containers are made of this type of polythene. Using them more than once is not healthy at all.
If ‘4’ is written on the bottom of the pot, it means - this type of pot is made of LDPE national polythene. This type of container can hold drinking water or food more than once. However, it is better not to use it for more than a week.
If ‘5’ is written in the triangle under the pot, it means that it is absolutely safe to use this type of pot. Sauce bottles, water bottles or syrup bottles are made of this type of polythene.
If ‘৬’ is written in the triangle, it means that this type of pot is made of polystyrene or styrofoam. It is not healthy to heat food in a container made of polythene. It is better not to use more.
If ‘৭’ is written in the triangle, it means that using such pots is very harmful and risky for health. Food or drink should not be kept at all.
